81st Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Well who knew!? We've never really gotten into watching the parade. Sure we've seen bits of it here and there, we've had it on in the background & have ooo'd and ah'd at the big "falloons" (that's their official name). But this morning was different. We have a 2 year old and of course EVERYTHING is more exciting with C. We got her out of bed, gave her a granola bar for breakfast and let her sit on the couch to watch her first Macy's parade. What followed was simply precious. She wouldn't take her eyes off the screen, she would say, HERE IT COMES!!! DADDA DADDA WHAT THAT!!??? or LOOK MOMMA!! HE BIG! HE GOT BIG NOSE!!! WHO THAT WHO THAT??? I'd say, "Shrek" or whoever happened to be floating by and she'd say, "He's so cute!" She barely remembered to eat her granola bar and was THRILLED when "NOOPY!!!" came on...so thrilled that she grabbed and hugged her snoopy, looking at him then at the one on tv, then back at the one in her hands (he's one of the guys). She sat glued to the TV all snuggly in a blanket with her guys while we cooked and got ready to go to our friend's house for dinner. It was PRECIOUS!!! DEFINITELY going to be a tradition! The bummer is we left RIGHT before Dora came on!!! MAAAN! It's alright though, we saw Dora on a commercial later and Tivo'd the commercial for C to watch after her nap so she did get to see Dora as a huge falloon...it just wasn't live. I'm already looking forward to the 82nd Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
