Story Time

C wrote some stories today as she read to her bear, Pearl (give to her by Maria, named after my grandma).

So she told Pearl 3 stories, I wish you could hear her tell them...she had pretend books that she pretended to read as she made up the stories below...one of them she did get distracted with and switched gears. The one about Russell is a fun book we have about a sheep named Russell that she loves to read, that one is her paraphrase. :) And story time begins...

"I’m gonna read a pretend book to Pearl - Once upon a time there was an apple that fell off and no one picked it up and then there was a HUGE lion that came and got it! And then there was a spider! And then there was a hugest mountain and no one got to climb it! The mom say no and they got a time out and that’s all."

“I’m gonna read this one for real!” (She picked up Russell the Sheep)

"Russell

Once upon a sheep a sheep and the frog Russell the sheep was swinging on a bar and no one get to climb up it. But frog climbed up it and Russell the sheep didn’t tell him. And THEN soon it was bedtime and all the sheeps were going to bed. Except for RUSSELL!!"

“Got a pretend book”

"Once upon a time there was a little feet and one broke! One people broke! Pearl is sick! I’m going to take her for the doctor. (she sat down and was driving on the floor with Pearl in the back seat (behind her on the floor) saying, “Are we here yet?” “No Pearl”. Vrrmmm More driving…“Ok, we are here.” (handing Pearl to me) “here doctor.”

"Once upon a time a little one came in an ice pack. And then one tiger and no momma was in the bush! And then a tiger ate PEARL! And then she spitted it out and it was all gross. That’s all! It’s just a little story."

I wish you could picture her informing me she had another pretend book and could see her reading, I would've video'd but my camera was in the other room with a dead battery and she was on my lap, couldn't ruin the moment. She read with such emphasis and excitement...very fun day.
