C: Crying in her bed this morning.
Me: Hey sweetie, I've gotcha...(picking her up as she continued to cry half asleep)
C: (through her tears) Get my chess!!!!!!!!!!
Me: .......your chess???
C: NO MY CHECKSSS
Me: ........your checks??
C: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (still crying-still half asleep) my dress!!!
Me: Ok, ok, what dress do you want?
C: No! My chess, my chess, in the grass! In the graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssss!!!!
Me: Oh...ok, you left your chess in the grass? Sweetie, I think you just had a bad dream.
C: NOOOOOOOO!!! (Yep, still crying, still half-asleep) My jacks in the grass!
Me: You had jacks...and they're in the grass?
C: Nooooooooo! My chess in the grass!
Me: Ok, ok, can you show me where? Show me honey. (rubbing her back, cuddling her, asking D for help with the translation to which he replied, "I am helping, I have no idea either." :) We were clueless!)
Then she settled down, and clearly had a moment when she woke up and realized she didn't know either.
About 30 minutes later..."C, did you have a dream? Can you tell me what happened? What were you looking for?"
C: My chick, the yellow one.
Me: OOOOOHHHHH! Your CHICK!
C: Yeah!
So D got her little yellow chick out of the car that Dayana had given her once to bring home with her (pretty sure it's supposed to go back to Dayana) but anyway-that was it. She had a dream that her chick was left out in the grass and her parents could NOT understand that word at all!! Poor thing. No worries, she's got him now. :)
