C LOVES fire trucks! Her week started on Monday with a date with D down to the firehouse where our friend works. She got to sit in the fire truck and see the lights and even stand on the bumper! (He forgot the camera but don't worry, we'll go back.) When we're out running 
errands she's always asking to see fire trucks...and if we do happen to see one she says, "more momma...please...more fire trucks?" as if I can just make one appear. :)
So today when we told her we were going to a parade and that she'd see fire trucks there she was super excited! Funny thing about parades...when they start at "1:30" that doesn't mean they'll be to you by 1:30...we sat for a good hour before it was 
even in front of us. Her nap is usually at 1:30 or 2 so we had a tired baby girl. She did pretty well but wasn't her normal "excitable" self. She took time to wave (she has that..."I'm a queen" wave down pat...not even sure where she learned it) and did enjoy the fire trucks but boy was she sleepy! As soon as our church's group went by we went ahead and left...there was still tons of the parade left but it was rainy and almost 3:30 by then. Next year we'll get a seat at the starting point. She liked the candy & 
the bands...and had fun playing in her wagon beforehand but all in all the fire trucks were her favorite. 
She'd say, "Hi Fire Truck! Hi!" then after it passed..."Bye-bye fire trucks!" She also enjoyed the occasional biker that would ride by before the parade ever started! 
"BIKE!!! BIKE!!!" She'd say! And shockingly I got all teary at the parade! I really 
didn't see it coming but did you know when the flag or Veterans go by everyone stands up and claps!? Yep, got all teary, all teary...flat out cried actually! My sister and I were a mess. :) We went to more fireworks tonight with D's brother and his family. We were a lot closer than last night so we could definitely hear the boom & C LOVED them! She said, "BOOM!" after every one for the first 5 minutes or so and then would giggle. It's been a fun holiday week!
